A previous client of ours from Charles City, IA reached out to us after concerns that their sump pump wasn't keeping up with the demands of their basement and kept the basement feeling very damp.  

American Waterworks recommended installing our CleanSpace vapor barrier system to take control of the water and humidity and prevent any further heat loss.  We also installed a TripleSafe Sump Pump with battery backup to ensure that these homeowners never have to worry about a wet basement again.  

A homeowner in Charles City, IA was concerned when she noticed some areas of her basement were damp. She found that it had created some damage to the space, especially to the carpet in one of the rooms where there had been leaks. Rather than let the issue continue to grow, she decided to research basement waterproofing solutions. During her search she found the American Waterworks website and was interested in our FREE estimates, so she scheduled one for herself. We received her request and sent over Design Specialist Ryan Manske to the home to carry out an inspection of the area. Ryan assured the homeowner that there were solutions to repair the space and get it back to a water-free state. The homeowner was relieved to hear this and agreed to the project plans. Once the plans were approved, we sent over Foreman Lane Schlobohm and his crew to install both our WaterGuard perimeter drain system and CleanSpace wall vapor barrier. The crew carefully had both products installed and ensured they worked properly so there would be no more incoming water into the room. The homeowner was glad that she had reached out to us instead of leaving the problem and was happy with the final results.

Marilyn from Minneiska, MN got in contact with us when she began to notice a musty smell originating from her crawl space beneath her home. She wanted to fix the issue and make sure she wasn't experiencing more serious water intrusion. When she got in contact with us, we set her up with our FREE estimate, entitling her to a thorough, no-obligation inspection by a member of our Design Specialists team. Shortly after, our Design Specialist, Rick, headed out to the property to see what could be done. Once he completed his walkthrough, he was able to make his recommendations as to how we could help. He wanted to use three of our products to seal the space, ensuring no water would penetrate it. First, he recommended a base layer of our drainage matting, a liner that rests directly on the crawl space floor, working to trap water underneath it and direct it to the appropriate disposal site. Next, Rick wanted to encapsulate the entire space in our CleanSpace vapor barrier. He explained that this system is a durable, bright white liner that gets installed on the floors and walls of the space, and works to prevent water vapor and humidity from passing through the space. Finally, he wanted to seal all remaining cracks and holes with our SprayFoam, a durable foam that works to block any water from entering. Our customer agreed and work began shortly after. 

Our Foreman, Kiko, and his crew ended up installing 168 sqft of drainage matting throughout the space and another 230 sqft of CleanSpace. Once the job was completed, Marilyn was happy to know she no longer had to worry about unwanted water in the space. 

A homeowner in Altura, MN became worried about his basement when his daughter had informed him that her floors were damp. He looked into the problem himself and found exactly what she had said. WaterGuard works to intercept water at the perimeter of the basement and sends it away safely to the pump. The homeowner was so glad that a solution had been found and that he no longer had to worry about water entering the space.

We sent our Design Specialist, Rick Weber, to meet with Nancy, evaluate the situation, and propose a customized solution for her home. Our Foreman, Kiko Pena, and his production crew got to work and began the waterproofing project by first removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement to make a trench for our WaterGuard drainage system. Next, they installed our recommended TripleSafe sump pump, spray foam insulation in the rim joists, and Foamax insulated panels on the walls. They completed the project with the installation of our SaniDry XP dehumidifier to take care of any humidity. The combination of these waterproofing products ensure Nancy’s basement will stay healthy, clean, and dry!
