Grand Forks, ND, Damp Basement Repaired

A homeowner in Grand Forks, ND, went to their basement following heavy rain and stumbled across a frightening surprise. The homeowner discovered their basement had flooded and the walls were damaged. Concerned about the long-term effects, the homeowner knew they needed to find a solution. The homeowner had a friend who had a similar issue, so they asked them for any suggestions. Their friend recommended working with us, American Waterworks, so the homeowner signed up for their FREE estimate. After the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, James. Once James arrived at the home, he started the detailed investigation of the basement. During his inspection, James determined the basement was struggling in the north and south corner of the basement. James recommended fully waterproofing those two corners of the basement. After deliberating their options, the homeowner agreed and the plans were sent to the office to be finalized. The office approved the plans, which were passed to our Foreman, Emmanuel, and his crew. Once Emmanuel and his crew received the plans, they traveled to the home and began the project. First, Emmanuel and his crew started by installing WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. Next, the crew focused on digging a feedline across the basement to connect the two water systems. Then, the crew attached CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. Finally, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was relieved to know their basement was properly waterproofed. American Waterworks is happy to provide its homeowners peace of mind.

High Radon Levels Mitigated in Grand Forks, ND

A homeowner in Grand Forks, ND, recently learned about the danger that radon poses in homes. Concerned that her family was breathing in the toxic fumes, she went to the store to buy a radon test kit. A couple of days later, the test results came back above 4 pCi/L, which is above the EPA's required action level for radon. She immediately started looking for services in the area and came upon our website. She learned that we offer FREE estimates, and soon contacted us to schedule an appointment with one of our experts.

Our Design Specialist, Ian S., arrived on the scheduled date and immediately inspected the home to figure out where to install the radon mitigation system. He explained to the homeowner that the system needs to be installed on the lowest level of the home because radon is a by-product of uranium, which can be found in soil. As uranium decays, it releases radon gas. By placing the system on the footing of the home, it tackles the radon gas before it can enter your home. The homeowner thanked Ian for his explanation and approved his design.

In a couple of weeks, our Radon Sales & Service Technician, Jackson P., arrived at the home for the installation. Our radon mitigation system is a large-diameter plastic pipe that is installed at the footing and connects to the outside of the home. An in-line fan will suction out the radon gas beneath your foundation and vent it outdoors. After Jackson's installation was complete, he cleaned up his equipment and left the home.

Now, our customer is happy to know that she and her family are breathing in fresh and clean air! When was the last time you tested the radon levels of your home? Click HERE to schedule your FREE estimate!

He knew of our Design Specialist, Richie, so he discussed his issues with him. Richie shared with him that we provide FREE Estimates, so the homeowner scheduled the inspection for Richie to come out to his home.
