Sump Pump Replaced in Inver Grove Heights, MN

A homeowner in Inver Grove Heights, MN, noticed their sump pump was not acting right. While it was running, the homeowner noticed that the sump pump was making odd noises. Having a hunch it was about time to replace their old sump pump, the homeowner began searching for a replacement. The homeowner knew they needed a professional to remove the old sump pump and install the new one. During their research, the homeowner came across the number of sump pumps and services we offer. Impressed by our several services, the homeowner signed up for their FREE estimate. Once the consultation details were finalized, we sent one of our Design Specialist, Jesse, to complete the estimate. Upon arrival, Jesse examined the current sump pump and confirmed that it did need replacing. Jesse showed the homeowners several sump pump options, and the homeowners decided upon the TripleSafe Sump pump. The plans were then sent to the assigned crew to begin the sump pump installation. Our Foreman, Gustavo, and his crew arrived at the home to begin production. First, the crew removed the old sump pump from the home. Once the old sump pump was removed, the crew then put in their new TripleSafe Sump pump. After the TripleSafe Sump pump was installed, the crew installed the IceGuard on the outside of the home. The crew successfully installed all the requested products and cleaned up the job site. The homeowners were relieved to know that they have a properly working sump pump and discharge line. American Waterworks is happy to educate and install new sump pumps in our customers' homes.

Home Protected from Radon and Water In Waldorf, MN

Charles, a homeowner in Waldorf, MN needed guidance in solving his water and radon issues. After scheduling his FREE estimate, our Design Specialist Lance headed out to the property for an inspection. He explained radon is a hazardous, invisible, and odorless gas that is the second leading cause of lung cancer behind cigarette smoking. Lance suggested having a new extraction point installed to depressurize the home. He explained that once the system was installed, it would work to pull Radon from the house, pipe it upwards through venting, and push it out and away from the home. Lance also walked Charles through our waterproofing WaterGuard system. This particular system is typically used in basements and is the premier choice for basement waterproofing as it is installed below the floor, but rests atop the foundation, keeping it out of the "mud zone", making it harder to clog. Charles agreed with Ian's recommendation, and work began shortly after.

Our Foreman, Cameron, and his crew quickly and efficiently installed the system. First, our WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. The team then covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. Then, the SuperSump Plus. In addition, the plan was to add a discharge line to ensure the radon went up and out of the house.

Our team connected PVC piping from the sump pump to the ceiling and out of the home, where our team installed the system. The mitigation system is the heart of the system; if it isn't working properly, no radon can escape the home. Once they installed the system and its cover outside the home, they connected PVC piping from the system alongside the home until it reached the roof. The radon was able to escape the home quickly and efficiently. Charles was glad he got this taken care of, and his peace of mind was restored knowing he was breathing in safe air.

Dirt Crawl Space Encapsulated in Dresser, WI

Peter K. in Dresser, WI had a dirt crawl space that was creating a musty smell in his home because of the moisture in that space. He also noticed that his energy bill was high and felt that energy was being lost from that space. He contacted American Waterworks to learn more about our crawl space encapsulation services. We sent a Design Specialist to inspect the crawl space and design the best solution. Peter was pleased with our proposal and moved forward with an installation date.

Our production crew removed the debris from the crawl space and installed the drainage matting and our CleanSpace vapor barrier system on the dirt floor and the sides of the crawl space. This helps to keep pests and moisture out, which reduces humidity. Peter was pleased with the result and is glad he can enjoy a stable, healthier crawl space for years to come!

Sump Pump Upgraded in Milltown, WI

A homeowner from Milltown, WI, was dealing with an outdated sump pump. The sump would continually cycle, even when there was no rain. The homeowner grew tired of repeatedly hearing the pump cycle, so he decided to look into other waterproofing solutions for his basement. After perusing the internet, he found our website. Impressed by our basement waterproofing before and after pictures, he signed up for his FREE estimate. Several weeks later, Daniel R, one of our Design Specialists in the homeowner's area, stopped at the house to evaluate the issue.

Daniel took his time with his inspection. When he was done, he met with the homeowner to inform him that he believed that there were three products in our inventory that he believed would fix the problem. First, Daniel recommended the installation of our WaterGuard. This unique french drain system gets installed below the slab of the basement floor and atop the footing of the foundation, keeping it out of the 'mud zone' where similar drains tend to clog. This drain works to collect water entering from holes and cracks in the floor, giving it a channel to flow to the sump pump. Because of the severe deterioration of the old sump pump, Daniel recommended the use of our TripleSafe sump pump. Our TripleSafe sump pump is our most reliable sump on the market, providing three levels of protection for your basement and your peace of mind. For normal functioning, the TripleSafe has a powerful, cast-iron Zoeller 1/3 horsepower sump pump set at the lowest level. For heavy volumes of water, or in case of primary pump failure, the TripleSafe boasts a second, more powerful Zoeller 1/2 horsepower pump set a bit higher in the liner. Finally, Daniel informed the homeowner that even homes with comprehensive waterproofing systems can still develop moisture and mold problems and could even feel damp. Concrete walls and floors continually absorb moisture from the soil and release it into the air in your basement, and store-bought dehumidifiers simply aren't strong enough to solve the problem. For this reason, Daniel recommended our AprilAire dehumidifierAdding an Aprilaire dehumidifier creates healthy air and can reduce the number of viable viruses in the air to less than 1% in two days when set to 50% RH. The homeowner agreed with Daniel's recommendations and scheduled the job for several weeks later.

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Jeremiah F, led his team through the successful installation of 132ft of WaterGuard, 1 TripleSafe pump, and 1 AprilAire dehumidifier. Now, our customer can rest easy knowing his waterproofing issue is solved!
