Radon Gas Eliminated from Owatonna, MN Home
A homeowner from Owatonna, MN, had heard of her friends and neighbors having their homes tested for radon gas. The homeowner knew very little about radon gas, but had heard it was not something to mess around with. She googled 'radon specialists near me' and quickly found American Waterworks. Impressed with our reviews and other jobs completed in the area, she decided to claim her FREE estimate, and several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Brad W, headed out to the home.
When Brad arrived, he began his inspection, and when he finished, he met with the homeowner to go over his findings. Brad stated that he wanted to leave a charcoal radon test in the home, explaining that the test works to gauge radon levels in the home over 48 hours. When the 48 hours are up, the customer would have to mail the test to a lab to be tested. Brad went on to say that if the levels came back above 4 pCi/L, he would strongly urge the homeowner to consider a radon mitigation system. A typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. The homeowner agreed with Brad's recommendations and the two decided to touch base after the radon test returned. A few weeks later, the radon results returned much higher than 4 pCi/L, so the homeowner called Brad and the two began the process of scheduling the project.
A month later, our Radon Foreman, Dakota, and his team headed out to the home to install the system. Now, our customer can breathe confidently in her home!

Sinking Concrete Lifted in Owatonna, MN
A homeowner in Owatonna, MN, had noticed that their concrete slabs were sinking and was concerned that it would worsen. Looking for a long-lasting solution, the homeowner contacted us and scheduled a FREE estimate.
In less than a week, our Design Specialist, Romeo V., arrived at the home to assess the concrete. During the inspection, he noticed that the walkway and top of the driveway had begun sinking, causing the area to lean toward one side. To fix this issue, Romeo recommended lifting the concrete slabs with PolyLevel, our elite foam expanding solution, and using NexusPro, our silicone-based sealant to seal the joints. Not wanting to go through the process of mudjacking, the homeowner happily agreed to the recommendations and moved forward with the project.
In a couple of months, our Foreman, Ryan T., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. The crew began by drilling small holes into the concrete slabs. Next, PolyLevel is injected beneath the slab and lifting it. Once it has been lifted and leveled, the crew seals the holes. Lastly, the crew applied NexusPro along the joints.
Now, our customer can have an even walkway and driveway! Experiencing issues with your concrete? Click HERE and schedule your FREE estimate today!
Basement Waterproofing in Bagley, MN
Jodie S. of Bagley, MN had water leaking throughout her basement, causing him to worry about water moisture, mold build-up, and humidity. She got in contact with American Waterworks and scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Richie Noreen. Richie went to her home, carefully inspected her water leaks, and came up with a solution that worked for her needs and budget. Jodie felt comfortable with Richie's proposal and got all of her questions answered, so she went ahead with the project and got a date scheduled for the installation.
Our Foreman, Ryan Loe, and his production crew started the installation by cutting out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard Drainage System. Our WaterGuard is made to prevent water clogs, serve as an underground drain that connects to the sump pump, and collect leaking water from basement walls. Then, Ryan and his team installed our CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier System, which is made to prevent mold and humidity, act as an extra wall protectant, cover any holes or divots, and it gives the space a clean and neat appearance. To complete the installation, our team covered the open floor gaps with river rock and applied new concrete over it, making the basement look neater than when they found it. Jodie was happy with the repairs and had a great experience with our team from the appointment to the installation!

Damp Basement Gets Watrproofed In Plummer, MN
Cindy, from Plummer, MN, was looking for some solutions for her home's basement space. The basement was experiencing water intrusion and cracking foundation, so she decided to call American Waterworks for a FREE estimate. Shortly after the appointment was scheduled, our Design Specialist, Ian, headed out to the property. Following a thorough inspection, Ian gave his recommendations to Cindy, suggesting that she invest in our WaterGuard system as well as our SuperSump Plus. This particular system is typically used in basements and is the premier choice for basement waterproofing as it is installed below the floor but rests atop the foundation, keeping it out of the "mud zone", making it harder to clog. Cindy agreed, and our crew got to work.
Our Foreman and his crew began implementing our WaterGuard System. From there, our crew installed our SuperSump Plus Sump Pump to the feedline. Our crew filled the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. The drainage system now properly guides water to the sump pump and from there, the sump pump pushes the water through the discharge line and expels it from the home.
After all was said and done, Cindy was glad she made the decision to call American Waterworks and had her peace of mind restored.
