A homeowner in Detroit Lakes, MN became worried about the state of her crawl space after a heavy rainfall. After checking the space, she found some water damage and figured something was up with the current sump pump and how much water it was pumping. She quickly went online to find a service that could find if that was the root of the problem and to offer a solution for the space. The homeowner found the American Waterworks website in her searching and decided to choose us because of our positive reviews from previous customers. She signed up for a FREE estimate with us and was later greeted by one of our Design Specialists, Kole Lefebvre. Kole found that the pump in the wet crawl space was indeed the problem. He explained that installing our WaterGuard system would help to intercept the water in the crawl space and send it away to a new TripleSafe pump to prevent more damage and from it leaking into the home. The homeowner agreed to the plans and was eager for the project to begin. Our Foreman and his crew arrived at the site and installed both products. They ensured everything was working properly and the homeowner was very impressed with the work that was done.

Randy, a homeowner in Shevlin, MN, was experiencing water in his basement due to cracked block work. He decided to look around for options on solutions and after his FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Richie, headed to the property for an inspection. Richie found that Randy needed solutions that addressed both water and foundation issues. Following the inspection, Richie made his recommendations and answered all questions, and Randy made an appointment to implement solutions.

First, our Foreman Raul and his crew broke out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard System. Our WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and ability to collect leaking water from basement walls.

Next up was our TripleSafe Sump Pump System, which has three levels of protection to solve all water problems a homeowner may experience. Along with the TripleSafe Sump Pump is a battery backup that helps in cases where power is lost in a home, the battery will keep the pumps draining any excess water build-up. Once the job is done, the production team then places a new layer of concrete around the TripleSafe to provide a cleaner and more finished look.

Then, they installed a discharge line from the sump pump to our IceGuard System outside of the home. The IceGuard is a waterproofing system that provides an extra block of protection against basement flooding, especially when freezing temperatures are problematic. 

The team also installed 8 GeoLock Anchors by digging holes outside the home and installing a metal rod in each hole going through the foundation. After installing a metal rod they proceeded to attach one of the GeoLock Anchors to the end of the rod, allowing the wall to be pulled back to its original position.  Over time, these anchors may be tightened to ensure the rods are effective and stabilize the home's structure. After the installation, the production crew backfilled the holes and replaces the soil to its original look.

They then went to work installing our CleanSpace vapor barrier to address water Issues. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic barrier installed right onto the problem walls, and works to catch water entering the space through cracks and holes in the wall. This also reduces the home's chances of being exposed to radon. The crew also used spray foam to seal and waterproof the homeowner's crawl space. Our spray foam is designed to keep the heat inside and prevent cool air from coming in.

Randy loved the new and improved space and is happy that the foundation of his home is in no longer in any danger!

Jodie S. of Bagley, MN had water leaking throughout her basement, causing him to worry about water moisture, mold build-up, and humidity. She got in contact with American Waterworks and scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Richie Noreen. Richie went to her home, carefully inspected her water leaks, and came up with a solution that worked for her needs and budget. Jodie felt comfortable with Richie's proposal and got all of her questions answered, so she went ahead with the project and got a date scheduled for the installation. 

Our Foreman, Ryan Loe, and his production crew started the installation by cutting out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard Drainage System. Our WaterGuard is made to prevent water clogs, serve as an underground drain that connects to the sump pump, and collect leaking water from basement walls. Then, Ryan and his team installed our CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier System, which is made to prevent mold and humidity, act as an extra wall protectant, cover any holes or divots, and it gives the space a clean and neat appearance. To complete the installation, our team covered the open floor gaps with river rock and applied new concrete over it, making the basement look neater than when they found it. Jodie was happy with the repairs and had a great experience with our team from the appointment to the installation!

A customer from Audubon, MN got in contact with us when he began to notice water entering his crawl space, creating musty odors and rotting wood. He was afraid that if left the condition untouched, it might compromise the structural integrity of the space. When he called our Appointment Center, we set him up with our FREE estimate, entitling him to a thorough inspection of the issue. Once the appointment was scheduled, our Design Specialist, Kole, headed out to the property to do a walkthrough. Once completed, Kole was able to make recommendations about how to fix the issue. He recommended the use of our CleanSpace vapor barrier. He explained that, along with our Drainage Matting, these two would work together to trap and drain the unwanted water from the space to the appropriate disposal site. The customer agreed and work began shortly after. 

Our Production crew, led by our Foreman, Arturo, ended up wrapping the crawl space in 463 sqft of CleanSpace, and installing 346 sqft of our drainage matting. They ended the job by sealing up any remaining cracks and holes with our spray foam, a hardening foam that works to block water intrusion. Once the job was done, our customer was happy to know that unwanted water intrusion was a worry of the past! 

Jayson N. of Breckenridge, MN wanted to straighten and secure his wood foundation, so he researched contractors who could perform that specific kind of service. He came across American Waterworks, so he scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Ian Schultz. Ian proposed our Foundation Repair Wall Anchor System, which is designed to permanently stabilize basement walls without the disruption or cost of replacement. Jayson was confident in the product, so he went ahead with the project.

Our Foreman, Ryan Loe, and his production team went about the repairs and were able to fix the foundation wall in three days. When installed, each anchor is connected by a steel rod to a wall plate that provides enough pressure against the inside of the foundation wall to bring it back to its normal position. Wall anchors are the most versatile wall repair method because they can be used to straighten walls with a variety of problems, such as bowing walls, tipping walls, and walls that are pushing in at the bottom. Jayson was happy with the work that was performed and had a great experience with our team!
