Crawl Space Encapsulated in Sacred Heart, MN

Jill S. in Sacred Heart, MN had a dirt crawl space that was creating a musty smell in her home because of the moisture in that space. She also noticed that her energy bill was high, and she felt that energy was being lost from that space. She contacted American Waterworks to learn more about our crawl space encapsulation services. We sent a Design Specialist to inspect the crawl space and design the best solution. Jill was pleased with our proposal and moved forward with an installation date.

Our production crew removed the debris from the crawl space and installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier system on the dirt floor and the sides of the crawl space. This helps to keep pests and moisture out, which reduces humidity. Then, they sprayed our spray foam insulation in the rim joists of the crawl space to completely seal off the space and prevent any pests or water from entering. Jill was pleased with the result and is glad she can enjoy a stable, healthier crawl space for years to come!

High Radon Gas Levels Eliminated in Tracy, MN

A Tracy, MN, homeowner was chatting with his neighbor one day when he learned that his neighbor had his home tested and mitigated for dangerous radon gas. The homeowner knew very little about the dangers of radon gas, so he decided to find a radon specialist in Minnesota close to Tracy. When he found our website, he signed up for his FREE estimate.

Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Tony B, was headed out to the home. When Tony arrived, the first article of business was to place a continuous radon monitoring test in the lowest level of the home. This test records radon levels in the home over a 48-hour timeframe, delivering the average radon level after the test. Tony explained to the homeowner that the Environmental Protection Agency recommends taking action with any radon levels higher than 4 pCi/L (picocuries per liter of air). He went on to say that, should the levels return higher than normal, he would strongly urge the homeowner to consider a radon mitigation system, explaining that a typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. He finished by saying that when installed by an experienced professional, a mitigation system will lower the concentration of radon gas in the interior air to the minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health and safety agencies. The homeowner was thrilled with Tony's recommendation but decided to wait until the test came back to make a decision. 48 hours later, Tony was back at the home to read the results, which came back well above 4 pCi/L. The homeowner and Tony worked together to find the best installation date.

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Dakota M, led his team through a flawless radon mitigation system installation, successfully restoring the customer's peace of mind in the air circulating the home!

Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Jesse W, headed out to the home.

After Jesse finished his inspection, he informed the homeowner that he was recommended the installation of a radon mitigation system. When installed by an experienced radon mitigation specialist, a radon abatement system will lower the concentration of radon gas in your interior air to the minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health and safety agencies. A typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. On the day of the project, our Foreman, Jackson P, headed out to the home. He was able to install the system with no issues. Now, our customer can breathe easy knowing that his radon problem has been solved!

Basement Waterproofing Repairs in Lismore, MN

Matt L. of Lismore, MN had water leaking into his basement and underneath the carpet, making him feel nervous living in his own home. He called American Waterworks and set up a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Eric Hazelton. Eric went to his home to inspect the basement and come up with a solution. Matt was confident in Eric's design and quote, so he went ahead with the installation.

Our Foreman, Cole Brinkman, and his team started the project by breaking out the concrete perimeter of the basement with a jackhammer, forming a trench. In the trench, our crew installed our WaterGuard System, which collects water seepage from basement walls and serves as an underground drain that leads to outside. Next, our team installed our Basement to Beautiful Wall Panels around the wall perimeter. These panels are made to provide a dry and energy-efficient basement, and it creates a warm, protective blanket that will never rot and or support mold growth. To complete the installation, our crew laid a rock in the open gaps and replaced the concrete, leaving the basement looking neater than when they found it. Matt was extremely happy with the project and was grateful we were able to assist his home repair needs!
