Basement Remodel Waterproofed in Bismarck, ND

A homeowner in Bismarck, ND, wanted to redo their basement. Since they were already doing the project, the homeowner thought they might as well properly waterproof their basement. The homeowner noticed several American Waterworks yard signs and asked some of their neighbors if they would recommend them. Several of their neighbors recommended working with us, so they decided to call our Appointment Center and sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner awaited the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Ian. Following his arrival, Ian began his detailed inspection of the basement. Ian discovered signs of water intrusion throughout the basement perimeter. To stop the water from sneaking in, Ian recommended fully waterproofing the basement. The homeowner wanted to have the project completed once and for all, so they decided to go ahead with the recommendations. After they received the stamp of approval from the office, the plans were sent to our Foreman, Emmanuel, and his crew. Emmanuel and his crew traveled to the home and began by installing the WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. Once the WaterGuard was installed, the crew attached CleanSpace to half of the unfinished basement walls. Finally, the crew finished the project by attaching an IceGuard to the outside discharge line. Once all the products were installed, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. American Waterworks is happy to repair any leaking or damp basements.

Addressing Wet Basement Issues In Stanton, ND

Alisha, a homeowner in Stanton, ND, was searching for assistance with her basement issues. Groundwater was leaking through the cement floors and cinder block walls; the water stayed close to the foundation and saturated the area. She thought that our team could help with possible solutions, from sump pumps to sealing the block, so she called for FREE estimate. Our Design Specialist, Richie, traveled to his home to take a look around. Once he completed his walkthrough, he was ready to recommend a plan to transform the basement into a healthy, clean space.

Dylan, our Foreman, headed out to the house with his crew and got to work. First, they created a full-perimeter WaterGuard System with a lateral feed line where issues were present. Our WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. To complete the WaterGuard project, our team covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. The crew then added a half-wall of our CleanSpace to encapsulate the basement to prevent moisture and mold from affecting the rest of the foundation. Then, our crew inserted our SuperSump® Premier Pump System. It is engineered to help keep the basement dry and healthy for extended periods, even during heavy water intrusion. The SuperSump® includes a powerful Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower cast-iron sump pump, capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head out of your basement. To direct water away from the home's foundation so that it would not leak back into the basement, the team added a 30-foot discharge line from the West end of the basement. Furthermore, American Waterworks can help prevent wintertime freeze-up of discharge lines. We installed the patented IceGuard® system, an anti-freeze fitting that is installed outside of the home and ejects water away from the foundation if the sump pump discharge lines freeze or become clogged. Once the job was done, our customer was happy to know that her basement had been transformed, and she no longer had to worry about water intrusion
