Fargo, ND Musty Crawl Space Repaired
A homeowner in Fargo, ND, noticed a musty smell around their home. Unsure of the source, the homeowner began their hunt for the source of the odor. After looking around, the homeowner discovered the scent was coming from the crawl space. Worried this could be a sign of major issues, the homeowner knew they needed an expert opinion. The homeowner asked a local Facebook group for any recommendations and several members recommended working with us, American Waterworks. The homeowner decided to check out our services and was impressed with our work. Since they were already on our website, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of Ian, one of our Design Specialists. Ian made his way to the home and began the thorough inspection of the crawl space. During his inspection, Ian confirmed the crawl space was the source of the odor. To stop the odor, Ian recommended fully encapsulating the crawl space. Knowing this was their best option, the homeowner decided to go ahead with these suggestions. Next, Ian sent the proposal to our Logistics team to build and schedule the plan. As soon as the plans were approved, it was directed to our Foreman, Franklin, and his crew to begin. Franklin and his crew received the proposal and traveled to the home to begin the project. Once they arrived, Franklin and his crew began by clearing the crawl space. Once the crawl space was cleared, the crew went ahead and laid the Drainage Matting on the basement floor. Next, the crew installed CleanSpace on the walls and floors of the crawl space. Finally, the crew attached Foamax to ensure the crawl space stays insulated. Franklin and his crew completed the encapsulation, so they cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was impressed with the excellent work completed by the crew. American Waterworks is delighted to assist its customers in encapsulating their crawl spaces.
Waterproofing Repairs in Fargo, ND
Water was leaking through the parking ramp of The Historic Union, which is an apartment building in Fargo, ND. Devon L., one of the managers of the apartment building, was worried about flooding and water moisture problems, so he wanted to get it repaired right away. He got in contact with our office staff and scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Ian Schultz. Ian went to the apartment building ramp, carefully inspected the problems, and came up with a solution that fit their needs. Devon was confident with Ian's proposal and drawn-out solution, so he moved forward with the project.
Our Foreman, Corey Tollefson, and his crew began the project by installing our DryTrak Drainpipe System around the floor perimeter of the parking ramp. Our DryTrak System is a great option for thick concrete slabs and gets apoxied above the floor with no jackhammering, leaving a slight opening along the top to collect water leaking from the wall. Next, our team installed our CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier System around the wall perimeter, which prevents mold and humidity, covers any divots or holes, and gives the space a neat and clean appearance.

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Rutland, ND
A homeowner in Rutland, ND, was concerned about a foul odor coming from their crawl space. Unsure of the cause, the homeowner looked for a crawl space repair company to provide them with an explanation. Following a friend's referral, the homeowner decided to sign up for a FREE estimate with American Waterworks. We sent our Design Specialist, Ian, to the property to find the cause of the issue. Following his in-depth inspection, Ian discovered that the crawl space was unencapsulating, leading to unwanted water in the space which creates wood rot, mold, and mildew. Ian recommended that the crawl space be repaired to prevent any further damage. The homeowners agreed so the solution preparation began. Before the crew's arrival, the homeowners were asked to clear any debris from the crawl space and move the washer. Once the crew arrived, they ensured that the crawl space was cleared and leveled before repairs could start. First, the crew installed CleanSpace on the west, south, and east crawl space floors. As detailed in the plans, the crew was allowed to wrap up the wall as needed with CleanSpace. Once the CleanSpace was installed, the crew moved to apply Sprayfoam along the exterior facing joist pockets. Sprayfoam was applied on a whole wall in the seat crawlspace. The homeowner was pleased with the work done by the crew. If you are experiencing a similar issue, sign up for your FREE estimate today!
Crawl Space Protected In Grygla, MN
Brandon and Brandi, from Grygla, MN, were growing more concerned over the state of their wet crawl space. If a crawl space begins to rot, grow mold, or experience structural problems, issues can extend to all parts of the home. They wanted to understand why it was happening, ensure the issue was corrected, and restore peace of mind. After deciding on our company, we set them up with a FREE inspection. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist headed out to the property. Once he completed his walkthrough, he recommended how American Waterworks could help. Our customers agreed with the recommendations, and work began shortly after.
Our team installed the recommended drainage matting, a dimpled matting that gets installed onto the crawl space floor, giving any excess water a route to flow through the space and be disposed of at an external site such as a drain or a sump system. Next, the crew permanently waterproofed the space by installing our SmartPipe and Drain Tile drainage system. The next step was to install our CleanSpace vapor barrier to address water entering through the wall. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic barrier installed right onto the problem walls and works to catch water entering the space through cracks and holes in the wall. This also reduces the home's chances of being exposed to radon. The drainage system now correctly guides water to the Super Sump Plus pump, and from there, the sump pump pushes the water through the discharge line and expels it from the home. Brandon and Brandi were grateful for the support and guidance of American Waterworks in protecting their home!
