Basement Stabilized in Lake Lillian, MN
Gary, from Lake Lillian, MN began to notice a bow in the foundation walls of his lake home. The bowing of the wall resulted in cracks that are caused within the foundation, allowing water to seep through, causing a wet basement. Gary made the decision to call American Waterworks and claim his FREE estimate entitling him to a full home inspection. Once the appointment was set our Design Specialist, Shane headed out to the home. He began a thorough home inspection to get a proper diagnosis of the situation and provide the best solutions to help Gary not only solve his issue but prevent any other issues from arising. Once the inspection was done, Shane recommended that Gary invest in our PowerBrace Wall System. Gary agreed with the solution and proceeded to schedule a date of installation.
Once set our Foreman, Kiko, and his crew began to strategically place PowerBraces around the basement, inserting a total of 5, 9' PowerBraces to further stabilize the wall. The PowerBrace system is an I-shaped beam that stabilizes and helps straighten the bow of the wall over time. The PowerBrace system is drilled into the home's support beams and the concrete on which the home lies. The team also inserted 6 of our GeoLock Wall Anchors to correct the issue. This innovative system permanently stabilizes foundation walls by anchoring them to the hard-packed virgin soil beyond the foundation; the anchors can be tightened over time.
Now Gary lives worry-free that the foundation of his lake home is in jeopardy of worsening. If you are experiencing a similar issue, contact American Waterworks today and claim your FREE estimate!!
Basement Reinforced and Waterproofed In Danube, MN
Todd and Wendie, of Danube, MN, were having significant issues with their damp basement space with cracking and bowing walls. They decided to call American Waterworks for a FREE estimate, and shortly after the appointment was scheduled, our Design Specialist, Shane, headed out to the property.
Following the consultation and proposed solutions of waterproofing and foundation support, Todd scheduled an appointment for installation.
Our Foreman Luis and his production crew started the installation by implementing both our PowerBrace Wall System and our GeoLock Wall Anchors to correct the issues with the foundation. 7 PowerBraces and 11 GeoLocks were installed. The PowerBrace system is an I-shaped beam that stabilizes and helps straighten the bow of the wall over time. The PowerBrace system is drilled into the home's support beams and the concrete, on which the home lies. The Geolock system permanently stabilizes foundation walls by anchoring them to the hard-packed virgin soil beyond the foundation.
Next, the crew started breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, and forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard System. Our WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, its easy-to-access service ports, and its ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. They also installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump System. The TripleSafe Sump Pump System has three levels of protection to solve all water problems a homeowner, may experience. Along with the TripleSafe Sump Pump is a battery backup that helps in cases where power is lost in a home, then the battery will keep the pumps draining any excess water build-up. To complete the WaterGuard project, Luis and his team covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete.
The team then proceeded to install the CleanSpace wall System around the perimeter of the basement. Our CleanSpace Wall System is attached to the walls with plastic fasteners so it never falls. It also prevents any humidity from invading the walls and gives the basement and clean and bright appearance with a 25-year-warranty.
The couple was pleased with the outcome and glad they made the decision to work with American Waterworks.
