Basement Wall Stabilized in West Fargo, ND

Mike, from West Fargo, ND, gave us a call when he began to notice his poured concrete basement wall was beginning to crack and tilt, showing signs of the beginning of wall failure. Mike knew that if he left the issue unresolved it would compromise the structural integrity of the home, and could potentially cost more later down the road. When he called in, he used his FREE estimate, entitling him to a free thorough inspection by one of our Design Specialists, in which they diagnose the issue and make recommendations to fix it. Richie, one of our Fargo-based Design Specialists, headed out to Mike's property shortly after his appointment was set. Once he completed his thorough inspection he recommended that Mike invests in our PowerBrace wall repair system. Richie explained to Mike that this particular system consists of strategically installing several I-beams throughout the space. He went on to say that these beams will stabilize the wall in its current position without any further adjustments, but that the system can be tightened to make bowing or tilting walls straighter or more vertical. Mike agreed with Richie's recommendations and work began shortly after. One of our Fargo Foreman, Cameron, and his crew were able to begin the installations shortly after. The team ended up placing 12 strategically placed PowerBrace beams along the basement wall.

When the work was completed, Mike was happy to know he no longer had to worry about his basement wall!

Foundation UnStabilized in Ada, MN

A homeowner in Ada, MN noticed their foundation walls were beginning to separate, and decay. Instead of ignoring the issue, the homeowner sought a professional second opinion. The homeowners went around their neighborhood asking for advice on which company they should, and they all recommended American Waterworks. The homeowner visited our website and signed up for their FREE estimate. After the appointment was approved, we sent out a Design Specialist to survey the status of the foundation wall. Following his survey, the Design Specialist determined the wall was experiencing early stages of failure. The Design Specialist suggested that the wall be permanently stabilized. Scared of the possibility of wall failure, the homeowner agreed with the Design Specialist's plan, and repairs began.

Our Foreman, Kingsley, and his crew traveled to the home to begin repairs. Once they arrived, they prepared the east basement wall for the installation of the EverBrace. The EverBrace is an all-steel customized wall brace that is only offered in Fargo, ND. The homeowners only asked to have the EverBrace installed on the east basement wall, so after the installation the crew cleaned up the site and left. The homeowners were pleased with the job well done by the crew. American Waterworks is pleased to know another family was safe in their home.

Crawl Space Supported in Hendrum, MN

Wayne, a homeowner in Hendrum, MN, was concerned about the state of his crawlspace. The space had a floor joist that had been cut through while the plumbing was installed in the bathroom, causing the floor to settle. After looking at what American Waterworks does, he decided to schedule a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Kole. Kole went to the home to inspect the problem and come up with a solution. Following a thorough examination, Kole recommended that Wayne invest in our crawl space support posts. Specifically, Kole shared about our SmartJack Crawl Space Support System. Wayne was confident in the solution presented, so he went ahead with the project.

Our crew, led by our Fargo Field Supervisor, Corey, headed out to the property shortly after and got to work. First, they installed a 6' supplemental support beam. To be stable, strong and level, the floor above a crawl space requires solid mid-span support that's usually provided by a post-and-beam assembly. Next, the crew installed 2 1'-3' SmartJacksThe SmartJack® system provides solid support for sagging and undersized beams, restoring stability and straightness to sagging floor joists in a crawl space. Once installed in your crawl space, SmartJack® support posts can correct problems such as sloping and overly springy floors, interior wall cracks, and out-of-level door frames. Because of the design, it can be adjusted over time to provide additional straightening and leveling action if necessary. Finally, even though the crawlspace was already encapsulated, our team needed to notch some out for the SmartJacks, which meant that we also patched up the cleanspace to leave it better than we found it! Wayne was satisfied with the project and was grateful we could assist him with his home repair needs!

Crawl Space Gets Lifted in Argusville, ND

A homeowner from Argusville, ND was beginning to notice her floor was starting to bow. Because she knew there was a crawl space below, she had concerns about the structural integrity of the home. When she called in, we set her up with our FREE estimate, and a few weeks later our Design Specialist, Kole, headed out to the property to assess the damage. Once he completed his walkthrough, he was able to make recommendations as to how we could help. Kole wanted to use our SmartJacks to address the bowing wood in the crawl space. He explained that our SmartJacks are unique in that they are made with strong, corrosion-resistant, galvanized steel. Because your system will not develop rust, it will remain adjustable for years, should you need to perform future adjustments. The homeowner agreed with the recommendations and work began a few weeks later.

Our Foreman, Zach, and his team work diligently to install 8 of our SmartJacks throughout the space. Once the job was completed, our customer was happy to know that she no longer had to worry about the strength and safety of her crawl space.
