Cracked Foundation Wall Fixed in Winona, MN

Carla C.'s foundation wall was cracking horizontally and bowing slightly. She went on Google, hoping to find a local contractor that could help her. She came across American Waterworks and our foundation repair products, so she scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Mac. Mac went to Carla's house, inspected the foundation wall, and determined the solution of our Wall Anchor System. Carla was comfortable and confident with Mac's presentation, so she went ahead with the project.

Our Foreman, Tremaine, and his production crew installed five of our wall anchors, which are heavy-duty galvanized earth anchors that are embedded into stable soil outside of the foundation wall. Each anchor is connected by a long, steel rod to a wall plate that provides pressure against the inside of the wall. This system provides the potential to straighten the wall back to its natural position. To complete the project, our Foreman gave a thorough walkthrough with Carla, ensuring she was happy and comfortable with the final product!

Cracked Basement Wall Gets a Solution in Winona, MN

A Winona, MN, homeowner had been keeping an eye on his basement wall for some time now. He had been aware of a large crack running the length of one of the walls and was ready to find a solution. He took to the internet to search for 'structural foundation repair near me' and quickly found our website. He was impressed with the other foundation repair jobs we had completed in his area and decided to claim his FREE estimate. Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Michel R, was headed out to the home.

Michel's inspection was scheduled for 3 hours, during which time he inspected the basement, the basement walls, and the exterior of the home. When he finished, he met with the homeowner to deliver his recommendations and answer any questions he had. Michel began by saying that foundation walls are designed to withstand loads from the top, not the side. So when the pressure on the side of a wall exceeds what it can withstand, homeowners will commonly see cracking, bowing, sliding in at the bottom of the wall, and/or tiling inward at the top. Michel reassured the homeowner that while the diagnosis might seem a bit scary, he had just the solution to fix the problem: our PowerBrace system. Michel explained that these steel I-beams will stabilize the wall in its current position without any further adjustments. Over time, the PowerBraces can be tightened to make bowing or tilting walls straighter and more vertical. The homeowner loved the idea of having a system that could move through the home's various stages of life and signed on the spot.

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Diego B, and his team successfully installed 2 PowerBraces on the problem wall, restoring our customer's trust in her home!

Cracked Foundation in Alma, WI

A homeowner in Alma, WI, was cleaning around their porch when they discovered that the foundation was cracking. Nervous about the effects it could have on the structure, the homeowner decided to have a professional visit to take a look. After seeing all the positive appraisals, the homeowner decided to contact American Waterworks for a FREE estimate. Once the appointment details were finalized, we sent our Design Specialist, Brian, to the home to evaluate the status of the foundation. Following his evaluation, Brain suggested that the walls be permanently stabilized and concrete be lifted. The homeowner agreed with Brian's suggestions and a crew was assigned to complete the task. Our Foreman and his crew went to the home and began the project.  The crew began by attempting to lift and level the concert in the garage using the PolyLevel. Additionally, they attempted to fill the crack on the garage floor. After lifting the garage floor, the crew shifted their focus to stabilizing the failing walls. For this case, the crew decided to incorporate Geo-Locks to stabilize the cracking wall underneath the porch. Finally, the crew cleaned the job site and ensured everything was installed properly.
