TripleSafe Replaces Sump in Elkton, MN

A homeowner in Elkton, MN, noticed their sump pump was running slower and making odd noises. Concerned about the status of their sump pump, the homeowner looked for a professional to assist them. Remembering they worked with us in the past, the homeowner called our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner awaited the arrival of Romeo, one of our Design Specialists. Romeo arrived and began inspecting their current sump pump. Romeo confirmed that the sump pump needed to be replaced, so he recommended installing the TripleSafe sump pump. After seeing the incredible benefits, the homeowner agreed with Romeo's recommendations. Our Foreman, Dakota, was assigned to complete the job. When Dakota arrived, he began by taking out the old sump pump. Once the old sump was removed, he put the TripleSafe in its place. Additionally, Dakota installed an IceGuard on the outside discharge line. After the IceGuard was secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was relieved to know they have a proper working sump pump. American Waterworks is happy to give their homeowners peace of mind.

Radon Gas Mitigated from Racine, MN, Home

A homeowner from Racine, MN, was reading a local newspaper one day when he stumbled across a piece on the dangers of radon gas. He had read that radon gas is odorless, colorless, and tasteless, making it completely undetectable without the proper testing. Not wanting his family to unknowingly breathe in the hazardous gas, he decided to find a radon specialist to test his home. When he found our website, he signed up for his FREE estimate, and several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Romeo V, was headed out to the home.

When Romeo arrived, he began his inspection by placing a charcoal radon test on the lowest level of the home. The purpose of this test is to gauge the levels of radon within the home over a period of time. Romeo then carried on with the inspection. When he completed, he met with the homeowner. He informed the homeowner that they were right to have their home tested as radon gas is deadly. He explained that the Environmental Protection Agency recommends mitigating a home if levels are higher than 4 pCi/L. Romeo informed the homeowner that, should the levels return higher, he would strongly urge the homeowner to consider a radon mitigation systemA typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. It works to lower the concentration of radon gas in the interior of the home to minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health and safety agencies. The homeowner was thrilled with the solution but decided to wait until the results from the test returned. A week later, the results returned higher than the recommended level. The homeowner called Romeo and the two figured out the best day for the system to be installed.

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Dakota M, and his team were able to swiftly install the system. Now, our customer has renewed faith in the air circulating within his home!

Basement Waterproofing Contractor in Bloomer, WI

Fred A. of Bloomer, WI had water leaking into his basement after every rain. He saw an American Waterworks print advertisement, so he scheduled a FREE estimate with our Design Specialist, Chuck. Chuck inspected Fred's basement and proposed our WaterGuard Below Floor Drain, which is our most common interior drainage system. Fred was confident in the product and its features, so he went ahead with the project.

Our Foreman, Kiko, and his crew broke out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our crew installed our WaterGuard, which is designed to collect water seepage from basement walls and has easily accessible service ports when the time comes for annual maintenance. To complete the install, our crew filled the open gaps with river rock to allow proper water flow and applied a new layer of concrete over it.

Fred said the three-men crew were the nicest guys ever and were very hard workers!
