A homeowner in Hope, ND, decided to investigate the status of the crawl space in their home. As soon as they entered the crawlspace, dust and dirt erupted in their face. Disgusted with the status of the crawlspace, the homeowner wanted to encapsulate it. After seeing a before and after advertisment on Facebook, the homeowner decided to sign up for a FREE estimate with American Waterworks. We sent out our Design Specialist, Kole, to investigate the status of the crawlspace. Following his evaluation, Kole suggested utilizing Foamax and CleanSpace to close off the crawlspace. The homeowners agreed and we sent our crews out. Our Foreman, Domenic, and his crew started by removing the plastic and insulation on the walls. Then, the crew removed any debris in the crawl space. Once the crawlspace was cleaned out, the crew installed drainage matting and laid CleanSpace to seal the crawl space. Next, the crew applied Foamax on all interior foundation walls except where the crawlspace and basement meet. Finally, the crew applied SprayFoam on the exterior walls, except where the crawlspace and basement met. Our Foreman, Ryan Loe, and his production team started the installation by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. Inside the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard Below-Floor Drain, which serves as an underground drain, collects water seepage from basement walls, and prevents mud and water clogs. Next, our team installed our CleanSpace around the wall perimeter. Our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier is made to prevent mold and mildew, give the basement a nice and clean appearance, and is flexible enough to cover any uneven surfaces or abnormal walls. To complete the installation, Ryan and his crew covered the open gaps with river rock and applied new concrete over them to ensure the spae looked better than when they found it. Our WaterGuard serves as an interior drainage system that collects water leakage from basement walls and guides water to the sump pump. Our CleanSpace is a vapor barrier that prevents water from seeping through the walls and saves money on energy costs. Our TrenchLock is a system that blocks unwanted ground air and gasses from entering the basement. Lastly, our crew applied new concrete over the broken-out concrete to ensure the basement was neater and cleaner than they found it.

Once he arrived, Kole introduced himself to the homeowner and started his thorough investigation. Kole found several areas where the water was sneaking into the basement. Following his discoveries, Kole determined the basement needed to be fully waterproofed. He presented his findings to the homeowner and provided them with a solution. The homeowner agreed with Kole's recommendations, then the plans were sent to the office to be finalized. After they were approved, they were sent to our Foreman, Franklin, and his crew. to begin the project. As soon as Franklin and his crew arrived, they began the installation. First, they started by installing WaterGuard around the entire basement perimeter. Next, the crew took out the old sump pump and replaced it with the TripleSafe. Following the TripleSafe installation, the crew attached CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. Finally, the crew installed an IceGuard attachment on the outside discharge line. The crew completed the waterproofing project, so they cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was grateful for the excellent work completed by the crew.
