Robert K. of Albert Lea, MN got his home tested for radon and his levels came back at 19.5 pCi/L. The Environmental Protection Agency requests that homes with above 4 pCi/L must take action right away. So, Robert did, and he called American Waterworks to set up an appointment after finding out we provide services for Radon Mitigation. Our Design Specialist, Michel, went to Robert's home and drew up a map and plan to install our Radon Mitigation System. Robert was confident in the price and product, so he went ahead with the installation. 

Our Foreman, Geno, and his crew member started the installation by drilling a hole in the basement concrete floor, forming a suction point. The purpose of doing this is to pull radon out from underneath the home. From there, our team connected PVC piping until they got to the house exterior, where they installed the Radon Mitigation System. The system is the heart of the system. If the system isn't working, then radon is not escaping from the home. From there system, our team connected PVC piping along the siding of the home until they got to the roof, which is where radon escapes into the open air. Robert said our team was clean, they explained everything well, and they were very professional!

Nick M. in Dennison, MN had learned about the dangers of radon gas and decided that he needed to get his home tested. The test results showed a high level of radon. Our Design Specialist walked him through the radon mitigation installation process and answered his questions. Nick wanted to act quickly and moved forward with an installation date. 

Our radon mitigation specialists drilled a hole through the concrete basement to create a suction point for the gas. Then, a PVC pipe is inserted which goes up through the house and exits the home through the roof. A fan is installed at the top of the PVC pipe to ensure that the radon gas is being pushed away from the home. The post mitigation test results showed that his home is now a much safer environment. The installation took only one day to complete, and Nick is glad he took action to protect his and his family’s health.

Mr. Abrams' home in Northfield, MN tested high for radon at 20.0 pCi/L. The EPA recommends for homeowners to take corrective action if your radon level is at 4 pCi/L or higher. Our Design Specialist, Michael Radosevich developed a solution to mitigate Mr. Abrams' high level of radon. Foreman Dakota Merchlewitz installed our radon mitigation system and now Mr. Abrams' radon level reads 0.7 pCi/L. He now has peace of mind knowing that he is keeping his home and family safe. 

A homeowner from Mendota, MN contacted us because she was concerned about potentially having high radon levels. We scheduled an onsite inspection with one of our Design Specialists, Dustin Loftus, who tested her home and designed the plan for a mitigation system if one was needed. 

Her results came back at 6.8 pCi/L and the recommended action level is 4 pCi/l. She decided to move forward with the mitigation system to protect her and her loved one's health. Our Foreman, Dakota installed the system a couple of weeks later, and her post-install test results came back at 0.5 pCi/l. She was so relieved to be breathing healthy air again and was grateful we could help her so quickly! 

A couple from Minneapolis, MN contacted us when they moved into their new home and discovered that their Radon levels were above 4.0. The couple knew that dangerous Radon levels are dangerous to inhale and with a new baby on the way, didn't want to take any risks. They called into the office and used their FREE estimate to have one of our Design Specialists, Ryan, out to the house to assess the situation. When he arrived, Ryan informed the couple that Radon is a naturally occurring odorless gas that is caused by the breakdown and decay of the soil around the foundation of the home. He went on to say that Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer right behind cigarette smoking. Once the inspection was concluded, Ryan recommended the installation of a Radon mitigation system in the home. He explained to the couple that this system works to pull Radon from the home, pipe it upwards, and expel it outwards and away from the home through a vent. The couple agreed and work began shortly after.
