Failing Wall Gets Stabilized in Bowman, Nd

Myron and Karla of Bowman, ND got in contact with us when they began to notice one of their basement walls was beginning to bow inward, showing signs of wall failure. The couple wanted to resell the house at some point and were interested in correcting the issue sooner rather than later. They called our office and we set them up with our FREE estimates. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Ian, headed out to the property to see what we could do to help. After his inspection, he recommended the use of our GeoLock wall anchors to correct the issue. He explained that these anchors work to stabilize failing walls but anchoring them to the hard-packed virgin soil beyond the foundation of the home, pulling them back into place. The couple agreed and work began shortly after.

Our Foreman, Zach, and his team ended up installing 19 of our GeoLock anchors throughout the basement. Now Myron and Karla can begin to plan for the future without worries that their home will slow them down.

Transforming Foundations In Kenmare, ND

Tessa, from Kenmare, ND, was having trouble with her basement walls. Specifically, she noticed a bow in the foundation walls of her home. The bowing of the wall resulted in cracks within the foundation, allowing water to seep through, causing a wet basement. Tessa contacted the Appointment Center here at American Waterworks to express her concern and claimed her FREE estimate.

Our Design Specialist, Richie, examined her home and explained that the ground beneath your home comprises many different soil layers. With time, these layers of soil can wash out, soften, and shrink, causing the foundation to settle or crack. Taking all this into consideration, Richie recommended a solution to stabilize her basement walls to fit her repair needs and restore peace of mind.

Our Foreman, Tanner, and his crew headed out to the property and got to work! They began to strategically place PowerBraces around the basement, inserting a total of 5, 9' PowerBraces to further stabilize the wall.  The PowerBrace is a patented foundation wall repair system that's designed to stabilize failing basement walls and provide the potential to straighten walls over time. These steel l-beams will stabilize the wall in its current position without any further adjustment. Over time, the PowerBrace System can be tightened to make bowing or tilting walls straighter, more vertical, and improve stability. Tessa's peace of mind has been restored now that her foundation has been permanently repaired.

Crumbling Wall in Ray, ND

A homeowner in Ray, ND, was distressed about the foundation walls crumbling in their basement. Frantically searching for a solution, the homeowner called American Waterworks for a FREE estimate. Our Design Specialist, Ian, headed to the home to complete an in-depth inspection. After the inspection, Ian told the homeowner the basement walls needed to be stabilized. Ian suggested that the Everbrace Wall system, PowerBraces, and SmartJacks be installed on the failing walls. Knowing this was the best and safest option, the homeowners promptly agreed. Once the crew was approved, they began to prepare for the job ahead. Our Foreman, Domenic, and his crew began by removing any fallen stones as necessary.  Once the stones were cleared from the area, the crew began to EverBrace the entire west wall of the basement. After the EverBrace was installed, the crew installed the PowerBraces near the stairs for additional support. Now that the PowerBraces were in place, the crew installed SmartJacks and a supplemental beam to provide additional support for the foundation. The homeowner was grateful that their home was not going to collapse. American Waterworks takes pride in ensuring yet another home is left in a safe condition.

Crawl Space Transformed in New Lisbon, WI

Mark S. in New Lisbon, WI had a dirt crawlspace under his home. Moisture was the main concern and was leading to air quality concerns in the living space. The exposed soil was also a significant heat loss concern. He started looking into crawl space encapsulation and contacted American Waterworks for a FREE estimate. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Rick Weber, to evaluate the situation and propose a unique solution to fit Mark’s needs.

Our Foreman, Jesus Covarrubias, and his production crew began the project by removing the debris from the crawl space. Then, drainage matting was placed on the dirt soil, and Terra Block insulation was place on top to create a thermal barrier. Next, the crew installed the rim joist insulation, Cleanspace vapor barrier on the floor, and Foamax wall insulation on the walls to create an airtight barrier between the soil below and the building materials. Mark is glad he chose a long-term solution to protect his home from the consequences that typically come with having a dirt crawl space.
