A Rochester, MN, homeowner had noticed his attached porch was showing signs of sinking over time. Not wanting to have to re-install the porch later down the road, the homeowner began to look for a company that could help. One day, the homeowner was at the Rochester Home & Lifestyles home show, when he met Brad W, one of our local Design Specialists. The two got to chatting about the issue, and the homeowner signed up for his FREE estimate on the spot. A few weeks later, Brad headed out to the home to see what could be done. 

After a thorough inspection, Brad met with the homeowner to discuss next steps and his recommendations. Brad informed the homeowner that American Waterworks could effectively reverse the problem with the help of our helical piers. Brad explained that the helical pier owes its name to the helical plates welded to the pier shaft. These plates help to pull the pier into the soil during installation and provide anchoring strength as the weight of the foundation or structural element is transferred to the pier. These piers are mechanically advanced into the soil using small construction equipment or hand equipment. As they are installed to appropriate depths and capacities, they prevent any future settlement issues. In many scenarios, these piers will be able to lift your home back to level position by the completion of the installation. The homeowner liked the sound of Brad's plan, and the work was scheduled for several weeks later. 

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Matt Z, and his team installed 4 of our helical piers in no time. Now our customer can continue to enjoy his porch for years to come!

Stephen S. in Rochester, MN found that his deck had started settling and putting pressure on their home. He was worried about the damage that it was causing to the structure of his home, so he contacted American Waterworks for a FREE estimate.

We sent one of our Design Specialists to his home to inspect the situation and to find a solution for him. We recommended installing a helical pier under each deck post to support the weight of the deck and raise it back to its original position. Stephen agreed that that was the best solution to his foundation problem, so we scheduled an installation as soon as possible. 

Our crew installed 3 helical piers to support the deck and relieve the stress that it was putting on their home. Terri Z. in Rochester, MN had recently purchased a new home, but noticed some uneven floors and was concerned about the crawl space and structural integrity. She attended the Rochester Area Builders Home Show, saw our booth, and contacted our Customer Care Center to set up a FREE inspection. Terri met with one of our Design Specialists, Eric Hazelton, who worked side by side with her to construct a unique and permanent solution for her home. 

Our Foreman, Juan Pena, and his production crew were able to successfully stabilize Terri’s crawl space by installing 18 SmartJacks throughout the space. The SmartJack Crawl Space Stabilizer is an adjustable supplemental support system used for sagging crawl spaces. The SmartJack can be installed year-round, and it’s portable size allows it to be installed in even the tightest of crawl spaces. Our foundation repair systems are backed by a lifetime warranty, so Terri can rest easy knowing her new home is protected. 

Ginger L. of Rochester, MN had cracks in their foundation wall, and they wanted to get them fixed before it got any worse. They found American Waterworks on the web, so they requested a FREE estimate with our Design Specialist, Mac. Mac went to Ginger's home, carefully inspected their wall, and proposed our wall anchor system. Ginger got all of their questions answered, so they went ahead with the project. 

Our Foreman, Raul A, and his crew installed nine of our wall anchors and their hide-a-way covers. Our covers provide a nice, finishing touch to the installation and it still allows for periodic tightening of the system. This system is made to stabilize and straighten cracked and bowing foundation walls. Since they are such a versatile system, they are able to solve several foundation problems. Ginger was happy with the work and had a great experience with our team! 

A customer contacted us in regards to bunnies and other pests entering their crawl space through previously sealed holes and wanted to know what could be done to fix the issue. Our Design Specialist, Dustin Loftus, went out to the property to assess the situation and recommended the homeowners remove the stone and debris in the crawl space, remove old spray foam in the stone walls and re-grout the holes, add CleanSpace encapsulation to keep warm air in, and add SmartJacks to add further stabilization the home.

Our Foreman, Kiko, installed the recommended fix on the properties and now the homeowners have peace of mind knowing that unwanted pests and loss of heat through the crawl space are all worries of the past.
